He has advised and acted for various individuals, families, companies, organizations, corporate secretarial firms, MCSTs, sports associations, and registered clubs, in relation to contentious and non-contentious legal work.

With respect to contentious legal work, he has been involved in criminal litigation, civil litigation, and dispute resolution concerning family disputes, employment disputes, tenancy disputes, property disputes, estate disputes, intellectual property disputes, personal injury claims, banking and insolvency claims, debt recovery, bankruptcy and winding up proceedings, representing local as well as international clients.

He has in fact represented clients at all levels of the Singapore Courts either as assisting counsel, counsel, or instructed counsel. He is thus well versed as to how to go about obtaining a fair verdict in a criminal matter, achieving a reasonable settlement via mediation, or improving one’s chances of gaining a favourable judgment in a civil matter by effectively advocating one’s case in Court.

As regards to non-contentious legal work he has been providing legal advice and/or legal opinions on constitutions, probate matters, employment contracts, including harassment and dismissals, intellectual property rights, workmen compensation, personal injuries, debt repayment, and scheme of arrangement.

Selvaraj has a Bachelor of Arts (Economics and English) and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Winnipeg, Canada, and a LL. B (Hons) degree from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. In addition, he has a Graduate Certificate in International Arbitration and is a qualified Chartered Arbitrator, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, and Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Aside from being passionate about litigation he loves the beautiful game of soccer and has been actively involved in different capacities; as a player, coach, or journalist, almost throughout his life.
